Income distribution and poverty: Example of Bilecik province

Provision of justice in income distribution is one of the most important indicators of development. Failure to provide justice in income distribution also brings the problem of division and poverty. This is a natural consequence of the uncomfortable and unhappy individuals who make up society. It is very important for social welfare to ensure justice in income distribution and combat poverty to reduce social inequalities to a minimum and to increase the incomes of those with low income levels in parallel with economic developments. There is a close relationship between income distribution and poverty. Geographical differences, globalization, rapid population growth, immigration, political instability, failure to achieve economic equilibrium, deficits in fiscal and tax policies, lack of equality in health and education, and widening the distribution of income also increase the poverty line. The purpose of this study is to examine income distribution and poverty and to investigate the extent of income distribution and poverty in Bilecik's people's perspective. Primarily, income and income distribution of the causes of inequality in the conceptual framework, poverty concept, criteria and methods of combating poverty, income distribution in Turkey and the fight against poverty, issues such as social welfare organizations and institutions are examined. Later on, a survey was conducted to determine the views and proposals about income distribution and poverty of the people in Bilecik. In the solution and interpretation of some data, One Way Anova test was used and the significance level of difference between the groups was taken as p <0,05. SPSS package program was used to evaluate the data and to find the calculated values.
