Abstract (EN)

The determination of ship?s resistance which is fundamental subject of ship hydrodynamic is very important because of it is influence of ship main engine selection. Computational fluid dynamic methods are carried out increasingly and are inserted into design process in new ship building industry like other industrial areas. At this study, ship resistance is calculated with computational fluid dynamic method and each steps of computational fluid dynamic are explained comprehensively. In this regard, firstly informations about equations of motions and control volume finite element method are given. Turbulent fluid?s solution which is one the most important subject of computational fluid dynamic is emphasized and turbulence model which is used in application is introduced. Finally informations about volume of fluid method for modelling of free surface flow , ILU factorization technique for solving of algebraic equation sets and multigrid method which is the effective solution of algebraic equation sets are given. In addition in this study, resistance of Wigley hull is calculated and wave systems are observed at five different Froude number and results are compared with experimental results.
