The effect of parachute trainings on speed, acceleration, agility and explosive force in young football players

Abstract (EN)

Purpose of the study; The aim of this study is to determine the effect of parachute training applied to young female football players on speed, acceleration, agility and explosive power. 20 female football players participated in the research voluntarily. The average age of the research group was 14.90 (years) and the control group was 15. 40 (years) female football players, whose body weight average was 54.90 (kg) in the research group, 52.00 (kg) in the control group, 1.64 (cm) in the research group and 1.61 (cm) in the control group, were included. In addition to their program, the football players were given a parachute-assisted training program 3 days a week for 6 weeks. A stadiometer (Holtain Ltd. UK) brand height measurement device to measure the height of football players; A scale (Tanita 401 A, Japan) device was used to measure body weights. The data obtained in the study were summarized as mean and standard deviation (Std. Deviation). Normality testing was performed with the Shapiro Wilk Test. According to the results of the normality analysis of the variables, t-test for independent samples and Mann Whitney U test were applied to compare the groups. For pre-test – post-test comparisons, dependent samples t-test and Wilcoxon test were performed. The statistical significance level was accepted as 0.05. SPSS 27.0 package program was used to analyze the data. As a result of comparing the descriptive information of the participants, no significant difference was detected between age, height, body weight and sports experience (p>0.05). It was determined that the speed (t=-.952), explosive force (t=1.804) and acceleration (U=49.000) scores of the research and control groups measured in the pre-test did not show a statistically significant difference (p>0.05). On the other hand, when comparing the agility scores, it was determined that there was a statistically significant difference and the research group had lower agility values than the control group (t=-3.027; p<0.05). Pre-test and post-test comparison of the research group was given. Compared to the pre-test, it was determined that there was a significant decrease in the post-test speed (t = 5.953), agility (t = 5.308) and acceleration (U = -2.703) values measured after parachute training, and a significant increase in explosive power (t = -7.235).
