Investigation of relationship between the levels of mental toughness and conscious awareness of young handball players

172 young handball players selected by coincidence method participated in this research. The data form prepared within the scope of the study consists of two parts. In the first part, a personal information form to identify the demographics of the participants; in the second part, "Sport Mental Toughness Questionnaire-SMTQ-14", which was developed by Sheard et al. and translated to Turkish language by Altintas and Conscious Awareness Scale was used. SPSS 22.0 program was used for the analysis of the data and for the comparison of the variables. In the statistical tests, it was observed that the data were normally distributed since the data were in the range of -1.0 +1.0, based on the Skewness and Kurtosis values. As the data were distributed normally, the data were analyzed with Independent Sample T-Test and Multiple Variance Analysis (MANOVA) tests. As a result of this research, there were not significant relation between participants' gender, age, income, sport ages, weekly training time status and places lived as longest period and leisure constraints scores (p>0,05). On the other hand, there were not significant relation between sport mental toughness and conscious awareness on participants. Key Words: Mental Toughness, Conscious Awareness, Handball
