Abstract (EN)

Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of functional balance training on dynamic and static balance performance and agility in female football players U13. Method: Twenty-two female football players were participated to study voluntarily. The subjects were randomly divided into two groups equally (Bosu Group (n=11): age 12,45±0,52; flat floor group (n=11): age 12,09±0,94). Functional balance training was applied in addition to routine training for 3 days and 35 minutes per week for 6 weeks to both groups. Static balance measurements of the participants were measured by Flamingo balance test, dynamic balance measurements were measured by Y balance test and agility measurements were measured by agility T test. Results: A statistically significant difference was found in dynamic balance on posteromedial of right foot (SAPMED), posterolateral of right foot (SAPLAT), posterolateral of left foot (SOPLAT), static balance of right foot (SASD), static balance of left foot (SOSD) and agility values of bosu group after intervention. A statistically significant difference was found only in SASD, SOSD values of flat floor group. A significant difference was found in the dynamic balance and static balance values, when Bosu group and flat ground group were compared. The improvement in the dynamic and static balance of the Bosu group was found to be better than the flat ground group. Conclusion: As a result, functional balance training on the mobile floor has been found to improve dynamic balance, static balance and agility performance. Key Words: Balance, Functional Balance Training, Agility, Bosu Ball.
