Abstract (EN)

In this study, where personality characteristics (neuroticism, extraversion, openness to experience, agreeableness, responsibility) are examined in young adulthood, gender, birth order, being the same sex with the sibling, parental attitude (mother love, mother control, father love, father control) and sibling relationships (adult emotions, adult behaviors, adult cognition, childhood emotions, childhood behaviors, childhood cognition) variables reveal the power to procedurally procede personality traits is intended to be removed. The study group of the study consists of a total of 486 (279 female, 207 male) university students studying in the Faculties of Engineering-Architecture, Science and Letters, Education of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University in the 2022-2023 academic year. In the study, the "Personal Information Form" prepared by the researcher in order to collect the personal information of the participants, the "Adjective-Based Personality Test" developed by Bacanlı et al. (2009) in order to determine the personality characteristics, the "Child Raising Attitudes Scale" developed by Sümer and Güngör (1999) in order to determine the parental attitude, and the "Lifelong Sibling Scale" adapted to Turkish by Öz-Soysal et al. (2016) in order to determine sibling relationships Scale" was used. SPSS 25 package program was used for the statistical analysis of the data obtained within the scope of the research. A "progressive regression analysis" was performed to reveal whether the independent variables of the study, gender, birth order, being of the same sex with the sibling, parental attitude and sibling relationships predicted personality traits (neuroticism, extraversion, openness to experience, agreeableness, responsibility.) in young adults. Gender and sibling co-sex variables were defined as dummy variables. As a result of the analyzes, father love, being of the same sex with the sibling and neuroticism of gender variables respectively; extraversion of the variables of childhood cognition and mother love; openness to experience of variables of childhood emotions and mother love; soft-headedness of the variables of childhood cognition, mother love, mother control, and father control; Variables of childhood cognition, father love, and childhood emotions have been shown to significantly predict responsibility.
