Abstract (EN)
Drug use is an increasing unfavorable issue in Turkey like all over the world which causes health, economical, sociological and legal harm to persons. While drug use increases, the age of drug use consistently decreases. It increases mostly among young individuals and they start using drugs because of various reasons. In the study accompanied with these information, semi-structured interview was implemented to randomly chosen 96 university students at Gümüşhane University by relevant literature. With this study, the type of drugs which students use and the causes of starting to drug use were investigated. According to the findings, it is stated that students use mostly hashish and opiate drugs in addition to alcohol and cigarette. Circle of friends, forgetting troubles and feeling pleasure from drugs are the most common reasons of starting to use drugs. Following these reasons, solution offers have been developed.
