Gender role attitudes, sex guilt, and sexual desire

This thesis study aimed to investigate the relationship between gender role attitudes, sex guilt, and sexual desire. This study included 273 participants between the ages of 18-50. The Revised Mosher Sex-Guilt Scale and the Sexual Desire Inventory-2 were translated into Turkish and used to measure sex guilt and sexual desire, respectively. The Gender Roles Attitude Scale was used to measure gender role attitudes. A demographic form was used to learn the demographic information of the participants. According to the findings of the study, there was a significant negative relationship between gender equality beliefs and sex guilt. Sex guilt was negatively associated with sexual desire. A significant positive relationship was found between gender equality beliefs and solitary sexual desire. According to these findings gender equality beliefs were associated with high solitary sexual desire. The conclusion has been reached gender equality beliefs are associated with low sex guilt and high solitary sexual desire. Additionally, research variables exhibited significant differences according to demographic variables such as age, relationship duration, gender, sex status, parental status education level and relationship status.
