Abstract (EN)

With the rapid population growth due to the economic development that has taken place in the city centers in the recent period, the cities have entered into an uncontrolled growth process. This growth process, which causes rapid urbanization, occurs similarly in Turkey as in every country. With the population movement from the countryside to the city, cities are growing by spreading or fringing their close peripheries and causing the rapid deterioration of the landscape structure in the periphery. This deterioration causes changes not only in the spatial dimension, but also in the social and economic dimension. On this problem, a research model has been put forward in which natural, structural and social factors will participate in the growth process, and accordingly, the landscape and the change in the landscape will be better defined, thus ensuring that the model to be created will be site-specific. The research consists of considering the multifaceted features of the landscape (ecological, cultural, social, conservation-use balance and economic data etc.) within the scope of land use decisions in the planning process, developing alternative scenarios within the framework of geodesign theory within the scope of a multidisciplinary study related to these, and then the most recent one among them. It aims to present a model proposal for deciding the appropriate one. For this reason, Söğütlü and Yıldızlı Neighborhoods, located in Akçaabat district, where rural and urban use are located together, affected by the population pressure in Trabzon city center, and users with different socioeconomic structures are located, were chosen as the research area. As a result of the study, it has been revealed in the controlled and uncontrolled growth scenarios created in the DECISION MODEL that especially the social and cultural data should be clearly defined in the context of landscape definition and that it should not be based only on natural factors.
