Abstract (EN)

In this study, which was prepared as a master's thesis, the effect of the PTF applied to the stay cables and effect of different cable arrangements on the behavior of cable stayed bridges has been researched. In this context, Nissibi Cable Stayed Bridge was selected as an application. The finite element model of the bridge was modeled using the SAP2000 (2006) program. Two finite element models of the bridge with two different cable arrangements, (fan and modified fan type), were created using the SAP2000 (2006) program. The proper set of PTF determined with the help of the developed optimization process which provides to work together metaheuristic algorithm named (Jaya) and Open Applicable Programming Interface (OAPI) properties of SAP2000 (2006) with codes created in MATLAB. In the determination of the PTFs, limit values of design constraints were specified for the vertical displacement of the deck, horizontal displacement of the pylon and the stresses occurring in the stay cables, and the PTFs were determined in a way that would not violate specified limit values. The analysis of the finite element models of the bridge was carried out under different load combinations including vehicle loads, wind loads and earthquake loads. At the end due to the data obtained as a result of the analysis, the effects of both the PTF and the different cable arrangement on the structural behavior of the bridge were examined separately and the obtained results are presented.
