Abstract (EN)
The gig economy is an employment system that has emerged as an alternative to the traditional economy. The concept of gig economy means "short-term work". It is an employment system consisting of freelance and short-term jobs that do not go to a physical organization, where customers, not employers, are present. Gig economy employees work from digital platforms by providing their own time control independent of their location. There are two areas in the lives of working people: working life and private life. Working life covers many issues such as one's job, working hours, income, career development, status, relationship with colleagues, job security, etc. The private life area includes the person's hobbies, social organizations, friends, spouse or partner, children, family, etc. and the people with whom the person interacts outside of working life and the activities they participate in. The roles and responsibilities that a person takes in his/her working life can affect his/her private life, while the roles and responsibilities he/she takes in his/her private life can also affect his/her working life. In general, work-life balance can be considered as the balance that people try to create between their working and private lives. In this sense, the aim of the current study is to examine the work-life balance of gig economy employees.
