Abstract (EN)

In this study, which was conducted by qualitative method, the factors affecting the failure of the entrepreneurs who opened a business but benefited from various grant programs in the province of KARS were investigated. In order to investigate the problems they face, the factors related to age, gender, education and duration of the activities were analyzed and the factors affecting the failure were tried to be classified and the results were aimed to transfer experience to the new entrepreneurs. The first contact with the interviewers was made by phone and an appointment was made. A total of 14 unsuccessful entrepreneurs were interviewed face-to-face with semi-structured interview methodology. Failure factors differed according to age, gender, educational status and activity and the duration of operation.When the factors causing the failure were examined, most of the entrepreneurs were identified as the main reasons of failure of the sector they chose, the lack of adequate capital, the relations with the banks, the economic situation of the country, the unforeseeable events, the errors in the selection of the location and the personality characteristics.
