Abstract (EN)
The biggest problem in communal relations is not due to the physical and perceptual differences of men and women, but from the fact that they are not seen as equal in education, working life and social fields. For this reason, various traditions and customs created the notion of geknder inequality, which changes and occurs according to communal factors. Disregarding the notion of gender equality, which is an indicator of development, negatively affects the lives of women in society. In order to prevent this perception, women and men should be regarded as equal in every field from family to society. In this study, individuals' perspectives on gender inequality in Turkey, demographic and socio-economic characteristics, political views were evaluated considering the beliefs in democracy. With this evaluation, the characteristics that can be taken were explored in the classification of individuals' perspectives on gender inequality. For this purpose, World Values Survey data was evaluated with Latent Class Analysis which is a type of categorical data analysis. For this purpose, eight questions involved in the World Values Survey, which is thought to affect the viewpoint of gender inequality in Turkey so it is designated as observed variables. The findings obtained after applying the Latent Class Analysis method are aimed to inform policy makers and researchers about gender inequality during the evaluation, strategy and suggestion development stages. In the analysis result, viewpoint of gender inequality in Turkey divided into two classes and "conventionally" and "non-conventionally" has been named.
