Understanding glitch art and the effects of glitch technique on painting

In some periods of art, the distortion or deformation of the form is accepted by various art movements such as dada as a medium. With the advancement of technology, previously accepted distortion method has continued to appear in other art forms such as digital art. As a branch of digital art, glitch art is one of the fields where technology and distortion can be seen together. Even though glitch art exists as an art field on its own, it also influences other art fields as painting. As a litarature review, the dissertation consists of five chapters. The aim of the study, which is to understand the glitch art and to investigate the glitch effects on paintings, is explained in the introduction part. In the second and third parts, the importance and development of deformation and distortion in art and the effects of technology in art are examined with the data obtained by qualitative research methods. In the fourt part of the study, the effect of glitch art on painting is investigated by examining the works of artists and who use glitch as a medium on their pantings. How author associated her works with glitch art is discussed in the fifth part. Finally in the last part, results and suggestions are explained.
