This study is prepared as a comparative definition in order to examine the behavioursof women who have emigrated and who have not emigrated to the region Naldöken connectedto the administrative district Bornova within zmir and the factors which affects thesebehaviours.The sample of this study consists of 210 literate, married / divorced women who haveemigrated to Naldöken region at the age of 18 and above 18 and of 210 women who have notemigrated with the same features. The data of the study have beeen gathered with the help of?Socio-demographic Data Form? and by ?Health Promotion Lifestyle Profile (HPLP)? whichwas developed by Walker, Sechrist, and Pender. The independent variables of the study aresocio-demographic variables and perception of health status. The dependent variable is thepoints of HPLP total and subscales. In the evaluation of the study data, variance analyse and ttest are used.The HPLP point average of the women who have emigrated is 2.28±0.28 and theHPLP point average of the women who have not emigrated is 2.43±0.32. The women whohave emigrated and who have not emigrated got the highest point in interpersonal supportsubscale and the least point in exercise subscale. HPLP, health responsibility, nutrition, andstres managament subscale point average of women who have not emigrated are statisticallyhigher than the ones who have emigrated. Statistically, there are quiet differances betweenHPLP and subscales in addition to their marital status, education status, income status, thecaseto have health insurance and chronic illness and the perception of health status.In order to protect and improve the health of women who have emigrated and whohave not, it is offered that education programs must be developed and the process ofemigration must be integrated to the nursery curriculum in accordance with the fact that thevariables which are effective to the health behaviours of individuals must be observed by thesociety health nurses.KEY WORDS: Emigration, Woman, Health, Healt Promotion, Nursing.
