An investigation of the migration phenomenon and the refugee problem in the context of Turkish - made documentaries on refugees and migration

ABSTRACT The phenomenon of migration, which has occurred since the earliest periods of history when people go to other countries from the country they live in voluntarily or due to economic, sociological or political reasons, has brought with its refugee and immigrant problems. Migration, which makes social change inevitable, is a problem that remains current on the world agenda, with the problems of refugees escaping from the threats they face and seeking asylum in other countries. This study, which deals with the problems of refugees to whom many countries plan to grant asylum under their control, aims to examine the phenomenon of migration and refugee problems, based on Turkish-made documentary films that combine science and art. As one of the countries with the highest number of immigrants in the world, Turkey's attitudes and behaviors regarding the issue, migration and the resulting immigrant and refugee problems have been tried to be evaluated through these documentaries.
