The assurance of the Sky Homeland strategy: The role of Türkiye's national defense systems in protecting airspace

From past to present, numerous developments and concepts have emerged in the field of national defense both in our country and around the world. In recent years, the concepts of the Blue Homeland and, following it, the Sky Homeland have gained increasing attention in society, the national media, and social networks. While there are definitions and maps related to the Blue Homeland, it is still difficult to access comprehensive information about what the Sky Homeland means. In a general context, the term appears to refer to the boundaries over land and sea where Turkey exercises sovereignty. The security of the airspace in these regions is becoming increasingly important for national interests and national security.In this regard, numerous defense industry projects stand out, supported by ongoing efforts and advancing technologies, aiming to be added to the country's military inventory. Among these, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have recently emerged as a prominent example. UAVs provide significant contributions in both civilian and military fields, while also offering considerable export opportunities and enhancing the country's international prestige.In this context, the study examines Turkey's National Defense Systems and evaluates the outcomes achieved through their development and integration.
