Faunistic studies on Coleoptera species of Gokceada and Bozcaada

Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out to determine the Coleoptera fauna of Bozcaada and Gökçeada in Turkey during 2016 – 2017. In this study, 143 species belonging to 27 families of Coleoptera were recorded. These are; Anthhicidae, Brentidae, Buprestidae, Cantharıdae, Carabidae, Cerambycidae, Chrysomalidae, Cleridae, Coccinellidae, Curculionidae, Dasytidae, Dermestidae, Elateridae, Histeridae, Gyrinidae, Helophoridae, Malachiidae, Meloidae, Melolonthidae, Mordelidae, Oedemeridae, Scarabaeidae, Silphidae, Silvanidae, Staphylinidae, Tenebrionidae, Trogidae respectively. Microhoria fasciata (Chevrolat, 1834), Trachys quercicola Marseul, 1871, Chlaenius velutinus (Duftschmid, 1812), Pterostichus melanarius (Illiger, 1798), Notiophilus palustris (Duftschmid, 1812), Opilo domesticus (Sturm, 1837), Dolichosoma lineare (Rossi, 1794), Dendrophilus punctatus (Herbst, 1791), Onthophagus joannae Goljan, 1953, Pachyscelis obscura Solier, 1836, Pimelia phymatodes Solier, 1836, Gonocephalum perplexum (Lucas, 1849) and Opatrum sculpturatum (Fairmaire, 1860) species are qualified as the new records for Turkish fauna. The synonyms, both the Turkey and Palaearctic distributions, number of specimen collected, the plant on which the specimen collected from and the biological notes of the species are given. Habitat preferences in these islands, family and species composition have been discussed.
