Tourism geography of Gölyazi (Bursa)

Tourism requires prosperity, improved means of transport and leisure. Before the industrial revolution, the agricultural society was dominant in the world. Therefore, people have achieved these opportunities with the industrial revolution. In this case, rural areas with natural and cultural features around the cities such as Gölyazı are preferred by people for recreational activities. With the development of industry, factors such as intense work tempo, noise and city life cause people to wear out physically and psychologically. Tourists coming to Gölyazı come from industrial and populated cities such as Bursa, Kocaeli, Balıkesir, Adapazarı and İstanbul. Gölyazı village, which forms our study area, is a historical fisherman Greek Village consisting of a peninsula and islands of various sizes on the shores of Lake Uluabat. Natural tourism features are more prominent than historical tourism features. Ramsar attracted the attention of the world by being included in the Wetlands and Living Lakes Network Projects. Gölyazı should be handled in various aspects thanks to its natural and cultural features. It is a field that requires interdisciplinary work. Since 1998, workshops have been held at various intervals. Representatives of various institutions, organizations, associations and non-governmental organizations participated in the workshops. There have not yet been participants from geographers.
