Abstract (EN)
The information society has played an intermediary role in many organizations undertaking important tasks depending on the developments that have occurred with the effect of globalization. One of the organizations that undertake the most important of these tasks is universities. Universities fulfill basic tasks such as the production, use and distribution of information; they are expressed as a set of values that increase the level of knowledge of the society and ensure that a bright path is drawn. Therefore; the commitment of academicians, who are considered as the subjects and important building blocks of universities, to the organization they are in is also of great importance. The study was conducted to investigate the effect of job embeddedness and work engagement attitudes of academicians working in universities in the TR81 Region Provinces on organizational commitment. In the study, face-to-face survey method was used as the quantitative data collection tool. The collected data was tested using SPSS statistics program and Jamovi statistics program within the scope of Structural Equation Modeling. As a result of the analysis; it was revealed that job embeddedness and work engagement attitudes have a significant effect on organizational commitment. In the study, it was also determined whether there was a significant difference between job embeddedness, work engagement, organizational commitment and demographic variables. As a result of the research, no statistically significant difference was found between job embeddedness, work engagement, organizational commitment and demographic variables such as gender, age, marital status, seniority and time spent at the current university; however, a statistically significant difference was found between variables such as education status, unit worked, academic title and current university. Future researchers can conduct different studies in both state and private universities and it can be suggested that the results be compared with each other. In addition, a wider sample selection can be made in different sectors and different cultures. The studies to be conducted can contribute to the enrichment of the literature.
