Show society and identity to your problem sociological perspective

In this study, which examines the problem of vanity and identity, which is a problem of today's society, in a sociological dimension, the theories developed on identity, virtual identities and the effect of media on the individual, the effects of social networking networks and the internet on socialization and identity construction, how the relationship between society of the spectacle and consumption are grounded, and what the roles of media and media tools are on the formation of consumption culture are employed on a holistic basis through theoretical and applied studies. The study was not limited to sociological sources, but a wide and comprehensive literature study was revealed by reaching the data of different disciplines. The identity problem and the society of demonstration were examined by using many different documents like books, magazines, articles, internet resources, etc. In this context, general inferences and determinations were made by referring to the theoretical approaches to explain the society of spectacle, identity and self-formation. At the end of the study, it has been concluded that, individuals, with the effect of media tools, emulate lives independent of the basic building blocks such as the customs and traditions of their family and their view of life, create the identities they want to have on virtual platforms, become an object of consumption for the sake of showing off, shift towards virtual relationships rather than face-to-face relationships, experience changes in their individual and social behaviors, and become alienated from themselves and their surroundings while socializing. In this context, it has been concluded that preventing the increase of individuals who have problems with showing off and identity in today's society, reducing the negative effects of media tools on individuals and society, explaining our socio-cultural norms and values to individuals accurately and effectively will prevent bigger problems in the social sense.
