Abstract (EN)

This study examines the background of the phenomenon of surveillance and surveillance from primitive societies to modern societies and today's surveillance in historical periods from a different perspective through the theories of theorists. While considering the development process of technology starting from the industrial revolution through the concept of surveillance, the developments in information technologies focus on the effects of surveillance mechanisms on the social structure in the historical process. In addition to the supervision mechanisms to discipline the society and ensure social control, he examined the systems used by the power forces to maintain control over the individual and society. The surveillance devices, which are an important instrument of domination for the ruling forces, consider the state of hegemony that they have established over the individual and society in historical periods. At the same time, the technological changes experienced rapidly today have also been reflected in cultural and social areas and have created cyberspace as a new space. The change in information technologies, along with the existence of social media in the social structure, the changing communication and socialization processes have had significant effects on individuals' perceptions of privacy. In the Pos- Panopticon era, the fact that surveillance tools violate the privacy areas of an individual from time to time has limited their fundamental rights and freedoms. The limitation of privacy and its transformation today have caused the concepts of public space and private space to change. The disappearance of the private space within the public space day by day has been the main determinant of this study. The transformation of privacy after the surveillance society has been studied from a historical and sociological perspective. Keywords: Panapticon, Privacy, Social Media, Surveillance Mechanisms, Surveillance, Transformation of Privacy
