Özet (EN)
This thesis aims to examine the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies on graphic art, addressing aesthetic transformations, ethical debates, and shifts in artistic identity through a multidimensional perspective. With the process of digitalization, graphic art has undergone transformation not only on a technical level but also on intellectual, creative, and social levels. In particular, the integration of generative AI tools (such as Midjourney, DALL-E, Artbreeder, etc.) into artistic production processes redefines the role of the artist and expands the formal boundaries of graphic art. This study evaluates AI not merely as a production tool, but as a creative agent that directly influences decision-making processes. In the first chapter, the historical development of the concept of artificial intelligence and its relationship with graphic art are addressed on a theoretical level. The second chapter explores the aesthetic and ethical dimensions of AI and its impact on graphic art within the framework of deepfake technology, production ethics, audience taste norms, and practices of art criticism. This section evaluates how AI-generated images spark debates in relation to originality, emotional depth, copyright, and ethical responsibility. The third chapter discusses in detail how AI transforms the understanding of creativity in graphic art, directs new modes of production, and influences art education. This chapter also examines changes in audience perception, the reshaping of aesthetic norms through algorithmic systems, and the ways in which AI-supported art can be interpreted through critical theory. Particular emphasis is placed on the effects of AI on ethical responsibility, including issues such as copyright, originality, and aesthetic ownership. Within this framework, the artist is redefined not merely as an aesthetic producer but as a subject who collaborates with algorithms, critically interrogates technology, and conceptually directs the production process. In the fourth chapter, the artwork analysis method is employed as the research approach. Five open-access AI-generated graphic artworks, deemed significant in terms of art criticism, were selected according to criteria of diversity and representational capacity. These works were analyzed in detail with respect to their formal, contextual, technological, and aesthetic dimensions. Each artwork was evaluated in terms of color usage, compositional structure, narrative form, thematic context, algorithmic basis, and aesthetic impact. The analyses were conducted using the theoretical frameworks of Manovich's new media aesthetics, McLuhan's notion of media technologies as transformative of the message, Stuart Hall's theory of representation, and Baudrillard's concepts of simulation and hyperreality. These analyses were structured based on a technical and rhetorical framing approach. In conclusion, this study demonstrates that AI-supported graphic art not only introduces new technical aesthetics but also raises fundamental questions regarding artistic identity, creativity, and the meaning of art. AI constitutes a rupture in both aesthetic and intellectual dimensions of graphic art practice, producing comprehensive transformations ranging from art education to audience perception, and from critical readings to ethical responsibilities. While the theoretical framework presented in the third chapter discusses the aesthetic paradigms shaped by AI in graphic art, the artwork analyses in the fourth chapter ground these theoretical approaches in practice. In this regard, AI is positioned not only as a technical tool of production but also as a cultural, ethical, and intellectual agent occupying a central role in the future of graphic art.
