Abstract (EN)
Humans are social beings. By nature, they seek knowledge, learning, and development. Over time, as communication improved, writing was invented. The need for a surface to carry writing led to the discovery of paper. In the pursuit of faster and more efficient ways to transfer writing onto paper, the printing press emerged. Printing enabled the widespread dissemination of information across vast geographies. Technological advancements continued with the invention of machines, followed by electricity. Innovations once thought impossible (such as long-distance communication, space travel, and computer systems) became reality through human effort. Skills like critical thinking, learning, adaptation, and development, which were once exclusive to human intelligence, are now integrated into the machines we create. It is predicted that when the human brain is fully simulated or when a more advanced, faster, and more powerful artificial intelligence system is developed, the reliance on human cognitive abilities will decrease. Consequently, many professions, including graphic design, will be reshaped by artificial intelligence. These systems introduce new possibilities in graphic design, save time, and have the potential to perform tasks traditionally carried out by humans, raising questions about the role of graphic designers today. This thesis explores the relationship between graphic design and artificial intelligence, examining its tools and applications within the field. While the precise future of artificial intelligence remains uncertain, it is undeniable that, like past technological breakthroughs, it will serve as a powerful tool for humanity. In the implementation phase of this thesis, the ability of artificial intelligence to solve design problems in the context of graphic design will be assessed, along with a comparison of its capabilities and differences from human design skills.
