The impact of the implementation of Islamic inheritance law on public welfare indicators in Indonesia (Case study of GRESIK state compared to other states)

The science of inheritance is the science that deals with the transfer of the deceased's money that he left after his death to his legal heirs in accordance with what was determined by Islamic law. This knowledge is rare or dear in Indonesia; Therefore, this topic was chosen. The lack of sufficient jurisprudential knowledge in the provisions of inheritance has negative effects on the religious and economic affairs in Indonesia. Indonesia is a country that includes many tribes and cultures, so it is not surprising that when talking about inheritance there are many legal sources regarding the distribution of inheritances, to the point that sometimes the sources of Islamic law themselves are not the prevailing, but rather inferior to the martial law of each existing tribe. This research seeks to clarify the importance of inheritance in multiple fields, one of which is the fair distribution of income, as the researcher believes that there are negative effects of not knowing the distribution of inheritance according to Islamic sources, as after the death of the inheritor, the inheritance in most cases does not go to the beneficiaries; Which leads to distortion of distributive justice at the macroeconomic level. This research aims to correct the practice of inheritance law in Indonesia, as well as to compare the current distributional state of income in the state (GRESIK), which follows Islamic jurisprudential sources in distributing inheritance, with other states that follow non-Islamic sources, but rather Western sources and sometimes from local customary sources. Data related to public welfare in the state of GRESIK, which has jurisprudential sources in the distribution of inheritance, will also be analyzed, and data related to public welfare in other states with non-jurisprudential sources in the distribution of inheritance will be analyzed. Let us conclude the impact of implementing Islamic inheritance law on public welfare. This research contributes to diagnosing the problems that result from not applying the Islamic inheritance law, so that people know the impact of ignorance on the distribution of inheritance, and so that people realize the importance of applying the Islamic inheritance law. The expected results of this research are that the correct distribution of inheritance has a very important role in maintaining family harmony and can improve indicators of fair distribution of income.
