Abstract (EN)
In today's world, the development of environmentally friendly and sustainable products through technological advancements is an important subject for addressing the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. In this context, electric vehicles, which are increasingly being utilized due to their zero-emission characteristics and high efficiency, are considered a solution for environmentally friendly and sustainable transportation. However, one of the major obstacles to the widespread adoption of electric vehicles is the lack of sufficient and efficient charging infrastructure. Therefore, accessibility is the primary and fundamental parameter in the establishment of charging station infrastructure. Parking lots are recognized as ideal and effective utilization areas to ensure this accessibility. Through charging stations in parking lots, electric vehicle owners will have the opportunity to charge their vehicles as part of their daily activities. This thesis investigates the required number and type of charging units using queueing theory based on data from the Gümüşhane 15 Temmuz parking lot. Different scenarios were constructed through the analysis of the data and electric vehicles. The optimal number of charging stations were calculated using queuing theory model based on whether the planned charging stations are AC or DC type. Considering the installation and waiting costs, the number and type of charging stations that would provide the optimum waiting time were determined. To simplify and make the functions more practical, curve fitting methods were utilized to establish a relationship between the number of charging stations and the total cost for each scenario. By evaluating the results, some recommendations were presented.
