Abstract (EN)

As a result of accidents at work and occupational diseases in the world and Turkey is people lose their lives or remain disabled. In the prevention of occupational accidents and occupational diseases, the safety culture targeted to be created as a result of education as much as legal sanctions is important. Health and safety are considered to be the two most essential elements of personal and social development. The formation of a security culture can only be achieved through a culture of organization and solidarity. In order to make the working environment suitable for human health and safety, it has become an imperative to establish and spread the security culture in the entire society. It is important to create a safety culture in the society by supporting occupational health and safety with education, and to prevent work accidents and occupational diseases. In order to create a security culture, from the kindergarten to the university life, courses for OHS should be included in the curriculum in every period of education. The fact that children and young people are educated in safe schools, being informed about the risks related to their environment, gaining the right behavior models in occupational health and safety issues will protect them against accidents and work in a safer environment both in the education process and in the future. The universe of the research consists of students studying at Gümüşhane Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in the 2018-2019 academic year. In high school, there are high school first-year students who do not have Information Technology, Electrical and Electronic Technologies, Machine Technologies, Metal Technologies, Furniture and Interior Design, Installation Technologies and Air-conditioning area. The school has 249 students and 215 questionnaires were evaluated. The data obtained were analyzed using SPSS 21 program. As a result of the study, students 'perceptions of occupational safety were reached on average of 3.45 points out of 5, which means that students' perceptions of occupational safety were at a good level.
