The play concept in comtemporary art

In order to make this thesis comprehensible, several philosophers who worked with the concept of 'play' in their works of art are focused upon. The 'play' element is briefly discussed from various angles, such as the historical, social, mythological, philosophical, artistic and personal viewpoints. Contemporary art, which constantly changes the current definition of the basis of "conceptual meaning" is thought to have significance; It is attempted to be referred to in relation to contemporary art and the process of formation. The research is about the element of 'play' in contemporary art. In support of this, the similarities of the notion of 'play' within the world of contemporary art will be analysed and discussed along with the artists who are inspired by the concept of 'play', and who tend to use the 'playful' element within their work. I will discuss the idea of 'play' and Contemporary Art with the objective to explain the things that they have in common, and then incorporate this information into the light of "The Play Concept in Contemporary Art". Finally, the thesis dissertation is complemented by various examples of the artistic works associated with the author. The aim of this thesis is to introduce the young artist to the concept of the element of 'play' within contemporary art in the hope of helping them to find their own voice in todays world of art.
