Teachers' views on the effect of the updated visual arts curriculum in teaching the concepts of value education

The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of updated visual arts course curriculum on teaching the concepts related to values education according to teachers' views. Depending on this purpose, it is aimed to explain the applicability of these concepts in class and workshop environment, how they are applied, the problems experienced in this subject and the solution suggestions. Nowadays, various methods and activities are being tried in order to provide the students with the concepts related to values education in the schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education. However, it has been understood that value concepts, which cannot be considered independent of any subject or discipline, should be provided with a structure taught in each course. One of these courses is the Visual Arts Lesson. The study was carried out in 2018 with the permission of the National Education Directorate of Batman province. In the study, the opinions of the Visual Arts Teachers working in the secondary and high schools in Batman province were taken by qualitative interview form and these interview forms were evaluated. These interview forms were analyzed according to content analysis and the collected data were converted into quantitative data. These data are sized and interpreted in each dimension. According to the data obtained from the interview forms, it was found that D.E.İ.K. should be integrated with the acquisitions of the visual arts course, and even if it is based on the values education concepts, the gains should be created and if possible, prepared as a teacher's guidebook.
