Abstract (EN)
The energy sources used today are rapidly consumed. Therefore, increased energy costs are seriously affecting the country's economy. The fact that fossil-based energy sources used in the world cause global warming has dispacted countries to use clean and renewable energy technologies to meet their energy needs. Solar energy is the most basic renewable resource, and this energy source should be evaluated for our country where is located on the sunbelt. This energy source should be made attractive and incentives should be provided. In this study, a theoretical analysis of a water heating system assisted solar energy for Erzurum is made and compared with the experimental studies. In the theoretical analysis, instantaneous solar radiation calculations are done by three different methods. In the study, the instantaneous solar radiation values, inlet and outlet temperatures of the water to the collectors, the collector output and the water temperature values in the storage tank during the day are calculated. As a result of the study, it is found that the region is very rich in terms of solar radiation values and it is estimated that the collector output is about 60%, the collector outlet temperature is 60°C and the energy storage tank water temperature is about 45°C. These values show that solar assisted water heating systems can be used in the region and that renewable energy and especially solar energy applications can provide positive contributions to global warming.
