Abstract (EN)

In this thesis study, a solar energy assisted drying system was designed and tested in Laboratory of Energy Systems Engineering Department, Osmaniye Korkut Ata University for drying different food products. Temperature, humidity, mass measurements to determine the amount of moisture removed from the product have been carried out on the test apparatus to make detailed energy analyzes and to compare its performance with similar drying systems. It is shown from the results that, system is operating smoothly. It is possible to obtain drying air at a temperature of 50-55 oC with the solar collector depending on the outside weather conditions (temperature, humidity, radiation etc.). Finally it is shown that drying process can be accomplished successfully with this system under Osmaniye climatic conditions.
