Abstract (EN)
This study analyzes the fire risks that may occur in solar power plants and presents an approach to minimize these risks and increase the level of safety. Solar energy, which has an important place among renewable energy sources, is becoming increasingly widespread with its clean and sustainable structure. However, the fire risks that may be encountered in solar power plants have a complex structure that needs to be addressed in a wide range from electrical factors to environmental effects. In this context, a comprehensive analysis and solution suggestions regarding fire safety are presented in the study. In the first section, basic concepts such as the definition of fire, its development stages and flammable materials are explained in detail, and national and international fire legislation are examined. Fire detection and extinguishing systems are discussed in a wide scope from flame and smoke detection devices to sprinkler and gas extinguishing systems. This section also includes information on the basic components of solar energy systems, their advantages and the solar energy potential in Turkey. The second section focuses on the factors affecting the fire risk in solar power plants. Risk elements such as electrical factors, high temperature, maintenance and operating errors, environmental conditions, material quality and human-induced factors are analyzed in detail. The study also emphasizes the requirements of international standards to minimize these risks. In the third section, fire risk analysis methods and application processes in solar power plants are discussed. Data collected through trips and observations were combined with temperature analyses in components such as photovoltaic panels, inverters and cabling systems and evaluated. In this context, a model was created for prioritizing fire risks. In iv the conclusion and recommendations section, concrete solutions for reducing fire risks in solar power plants were presented.
