Abstract (EN)
In this study, photovoltaics, which provide electricity from solar energy, were examined. A detailed analysis of photovoltaic systems was presented byexamining the principles of solar cells, and the components as well as the types ofphotovoltaic systems that can be generated to meet sprecific requirements. Whenthe laws and incentives about photovoltaic systems were investigated in thosecountries which lead the photovoltaic industry, the negative effects of highinvestment costs and the lack of incentives were determined to be the maindifficulties hindering the development of photovoltaic industry in Turkey. After adetailed analysis of photovoltaic systems, the design of a grid connectedphotovoltaic system installation was proposed and examined for a 30-unit summerresort in Bozbük/Milas/Muğla. A decision support system was developed in orderto calculate the daily electricity production values by using solar radiation data ofthe selected area and the simulation method. By using the decision supportsystem, daily electricity production values were compared with the electricityconsumption of the summer resort; and based on the number of solar modules thatwere required, different system alternatives were proposed. Finally, expandedinvestment analyses for each proposed system were presented.
