Psycho-social consequences of religiosity in everyday life

In this study, psycho-social consequences of religiosity in everyday life are dealt with. We benefit from both psychology of religion's and sociology of religion's sources beside a lot of sources because of the subject is related to social psychological issues. The study consists of introduction and two chapters. In introduction importance and purpose of the study is described is in any research. In addition, religion, religiosity, everyday life, psycho-social concepts to be seen as the cornerstone of the study are explained. In the first chapter, biological and psychological foundations of belief in God, function of religion in individual life and its impact on everyday life, criteria of religiosity, dimensions of religiosity and types of religiosity were investigated. In the biological foundations, Andrew Newberg's and Dean Hamer's studies have been given. In psychological foundations, Freud's ideal image, Jung's archetypes and Piaget's theory of cognitive development are dealt with in relation to belief. In the second chapter, researches on religion and social cohesion were conducted. Then what kind changes on the phenomenon of religiosity have been caused analyzes were performed by living environment and traditional religiosity and city religiosity has been tried to explain as a comparative. Then technological developments that an important actor in the transition from traditional/rural religiosity to urban religiosity are dealt with and tried to explained these kind of religosities how influenced by technological developments.
