Abstract (EN)
Turkey and Georgia are two countries with historical ties. However, during the Cold War, this relationship has declined to a minimum, and there was a period when multidimensional ties were ignored and suppressed. During this period, we see that a Georgian understanding of history and studying has formed. Transferred heritage from Tsarist Russia to the USSR has impacted on othering the Ottoman Empire and the modern Turkish Republic. This study is aimed to analyze the image of Turkey created in historical books during the Soviet Union and after Georgia's independence. Thesis' subject will be "The Image of Turkey in Georgian Historical Books." In this study has been used Georgian, Russian, Turkish and English sources. This research includes shape of history consciousness aspects and the revival of ideas and images of relations between Turkey and Georgia.
