Determinig health professionals on the use safe surgery checklist

With the "Safe Surgery Checklist" (GCKL) created within the scope of the "Safe Surgery Saves Lives" project, it is aimed to ensure safety in surgery. Safe Surgery Checklist 2009 the "Safe Surgery Checklist Tor" (GCKLTR) was introduced by name in Turkey. This research has been conducted to determine the views of health professionals in the use of GCKLTR. When looking at the studies in the literature, GCKLTR was considered quantitatively and no qualitative study was found. With regard to the use of the list, it was aimed to identify the difficulties and obstacles experienced, identify and develop solutions for this, and a qualitative study was carried out to examine the opinions of health professionals actively using the list more deeply and clearly. The appropriate sample selection was carried out with 41 people who gave positive feedback to the researcher by providing information about the study to health professionals working in group hospitals in Bağcılar -Beylikdüzü and-Çapa districts of a chain hospital group in Istanbul. One-on-one and face-to-face meetings were held with each participant and the interviews were recorded on a voice recorder. The interviews were then examined using the interpretive phenomenological analysis method, which is one of the qualitative research methods. The samples were selected on a voluntary basis from among the healthcare professionals working in the private group of hospitals, who met certain criteria. According to the results of the analysis, 6 upper themes emerged in individuals, namely "education, risk taking, others, empathy, circulation, pressure". Each parent theme has various numbers of sub-themes. 28 of the participants in the study were male and 13 were female, and as a result of the comments made by the people, it was understood that the gender factor had no effect on the use of the list. There were 31 people working for 10 years or more, 9 people 0-4 years, 1 person between 5-9 years participated in the study, 12 people between 41-50 years old, 11 people between 18-30 years old, 9 people between 51-60 years 5 people over 61 years old, 4 people between 31-40 years old, with the answer they gave about the use of the list, it was understood that the awareness increased positively as the professional experience increased and the age increased, the lower the age and the lower the professional experience, the less awareness was It has been determined that it directly affects the use of the list.
