Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, the impact of safety culture and cultural adaptation factors on safe behavior performance was examined. Safety is an indispensable phenomenon for the jobs and business lines in the energy sector and for the professions that will exist in the future. Safety performance, is affected by the presence of a safety culture. From this point of view, the effect of both safety culture and cultural fit variables on safety performance will be examined statistically. The research was conducted on 250 white-collar employees of a leading company that globally operates in the energy sector. During the research; safety performance scale, individual fit scale, organizational fit scale, safety culture perception scale, and demographic questions have been used. One-way variance analyses, independent t-tests, correlation analyses, and regression analyses were used in the context of the analysis of the data obtained. As a result of the research, both positive and negative relations were obtained in the context of the specified variables. In addition, it was concluded that the perception of safety culture has a positive meaningful effect on safety performance and that the cultural fit variable has an intermediating effect in the context of the model and this effect is statistically significant. In the context of sub-hypotheses, it was also found that certain sub-dimensions of safety culture and cultural fit variables had meaningful effects on safety performance. In addition to these analyses, statistically significant differences of demographic characteristics were also detected in several of the variables.
