Factors affecting the choice of fine arts high school music department (Batman province example)

This study aims to examine the factors that play a role in the choice of music department in Fine Arts High Schools. The study aims to comprehend the role of music department students, school administrations and families and to reveal how these preferences affect decision-making processes. As a result of the study, it was seen that students' personal interests, talents and desire for music were the most determining factors in their music department preferences. At the same time, the quality of education offered by the school, the experience of the teaching staff and the image of the school are also among the factors that play an influential role on preferences. In addition, family support and the socio-cultural opportunities of the school also play a role in the school choice of the students. The study also reveals that the school choices of the students are closely related to the career opportunities and post-graduation guidance services offered at the school. This study contributes to the understanding of the factors that play a role in the choice of music department in High Schools of Fine Arts and helps to develop strategies in the field of music education. At the same time, suggestions are made regarding the measures that school administrations should take and the improvements that should be made in education in order to provide a more effective educational experience for the students.
