H. 1060 and 1061/M. 1650 and 1651 dated with the number 100 court register of Manisa

One of the history researches with increasing focus of interest lately is studies on urban history, and archives of the court are the main and specific source of this research.Urban history is a field of history researches having increasing focus of interest, and judicial records of the court are the main and specific sources of these studies. The aim of this study is to evaluate the politic, administrative, social, economic and cultural structure of the city of Manisa by a scientific approach and method and to contribute to the generalizations and determinations related to Ottoman urban structure.The scope of this study is limited to the city of Manisa between years 1650 and 1651 and the cases and registries in the book of Manisa judicial records of the court dated between H. 1060 and 1061 with the number 100 which provide main source of data for our study.The cases and registries of the mentioned book provides important information about the city center, districts, towns and villages and the social lives of people having various jobs and social status, These data, while including information on personal rights, family lives and relationships, also includes information about commercial activities, acts taken as crime, dresses and products consumed by people, agricultural products and equipments, animals and the prices of all these. These judicial records also provide information about the law of the era and its effects to the social life. Finally, some of the documents referred in the book helps to obtain some information regarding political events and associative relations between the centrum and its neighbors.Finally, all the data in the above mentioned book were qualitatively and quantitavely evaluated to obtain an overall conclusion.
