Transcription and evaluation of Sinop banner in Kastamonu province salnames between hijri 1286 - hijri 1299 (Gregorian 1869 - Gregorian 1882)

Provincial yearbooks give important information about the structure of population, education, social, cultural and aconomical activities of the cities besides their history. In this study, the first 14th issuess of Kastamonu Yearbook dating back to H.1286, H.1287 H.1288, H.1289, H.1290, H.1291, H.1292, H.1293, H.1294, H.1295, H.1296, H.1297, H.1298 and H.1299 are studied and the sections related to Sinop Township are transcribed. In this analysis, not only Sinop section, but also the townships of Sinop are included. As a result of our examinations, the provincial yearbooks, dating back to about 50 years ago, contain valuable information about those days of Sinop Township. At this period, which coincides to the last periods of The Ottoman Empire, the signs of the general policy of the state are seen in the local and the reflections of administrative regulations in the townships are determined. The researchers are presented important information related to many issues , such as councils, population,schools and agricultural products…etc which were formed in the townships. Considering that the yearbooks take an important place in the studies of city history ,we esteem that these studies will resolve a significant deficiency in the researches which will be done in Sinop and its surroundings
