Abstract (EN)
The focus of this research is to reveal the extent to which news and discussion programs have an impact on women's political behavior and voting preferences. In the basic sense, the rate of follow-up of news and discussion programs and their impact on individuals have been associated with their political behaviors and their influence on voting preferences. The research is a descriptive study which examines the independent variables that make up the participant form and the voting preferences of the female participants' news and discussion programs. As a dependent variable in the research, news and discussion programs were evaluated on the basis of political behaviors and voting preferences. The effects of these variables were examined using the survey method. In this study, 300 female participants in the universe consisting of 107 different professions aged 18 years and older living in 29 districts of Istanbul were selected from the universe with random sampling method based on volunteer criterion. The data collected from the questionnaires were analyzed by using statistical methods using IBM SPSS 23 Package program and while the findings were interpreted, Anova Relational Analysis methods were used for frequency, percentage descriptive analysis and nonparametric results. In our society, the way in which women are associated with the home and the fact that women can get information mostly through television during the time they spend at home has revealed the need to explore the effects of high-impact television on women's political behavior and voting preferences. At the end of the research, it was concluded that news and discussion programs were not determinant on womens political participation and voting behavior.
