Staying overnight in Mina at Pilgrimage prayer (staying overnight)

As a particular place of pilgrimage, Mina which held importance even during the time of earlier prophets before Islam, continued to be an important part of hajj in Islam. This thesis examines the practices related to Mina during hajj and focuses on especially the rulings on staying overnight in Mina. It appears that as a result of Hanafi standpoint on the ruling of staying overnight in Mina as sunna, Hanafis in general, Turkish pilgrims in particular tend to neglect the practice of staying overnight. This study deals with this negligence problem and reaches to a conlclusion by examining its reasons. According to this conclusion, it argues that because these asserted reasons are not sufficient to justiy this negligence, even though it might be a sunna, this sunna should be revived and the pilgrims should strive more to apply this practice.
