Abstract (EN)
The word "hadith" derives from the word "ح د ث" and means "new, original, not previously existing, existing later, or saying." There are 36 words derived from the root of hadith in the Quran. " It is often used in meanings such as speech, news, conversation, and reporting from the past. Many definitions have been made regarding the term, but these definitions are primarily centered around the words, actions, and statements attributed to the Prophet Muhammad. These formations around the word ح د ث are divided into different periods due to the developments in the field of hadith and the features they contain. Proverbs, on the other hand, are formulaic sayings that provide advice to people and are formed through specific experiences. While their exact time and place are unknown, they are believed to have emerged throughout human history. It has been observed that some proverbs are used metaphorically or have changed under the influence of different circumstances. Today, proverbs are still valued but not used as much as they once were. The concept of culture, however, is a term used to describe a particular way of life, defined by each individual based on their own domain. The fact that this concept carries different meanings for different people has made it difficult to provide a definitive definition. It seems that some hadiths and proverbs are expressions that emerge as a result of a certain experience or lived experience. Both target people and have the aim of giving advice to people and reaching a certain moral level. Many proverbs have been influenced by hadiths, both in meaning and wording. In some cases, proverbs that appear to contradict hadiths also attract attention, and it has been noted that these are often overlooked in contemporary research. In this study, we will examine proverbs that are similar in meaning and wording to hadiths, as well as those that contradict them.
