Abstract (EN)

Nowadays, with the development of technology, the need for energy is increasing. This situation brings with it the need for alternative energy sources. Solar energy has become very popular because it is environmentally friendly, clean, and renewable. The widespread use of solar energy has paved the way for electric vehicles. Battery and battery charging systems, which are an important issue for electric vehicles, can be designed in a highly efficient way with the developments. In this study, the design and application of an MPPT-based battery charging system for electric vehicles was carried out. In the system designed based on solar energy, maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithms are used to obtain maximum power from solar energy. In order to transfer the obtained energy to the electric vehicle battery at maximum efficiency, a SEPIC DC-DC converter using the Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) technique was used. Losses on the switch are reduced with the soft switching technique applied by switching at zero voltage.
