Abstract (EN)
Improving quality in management and other processes has always been a permanent concern for institutions and people. This has been reflected in the dynamism and the rapid evolution of the concept of quality. And health institutions are not an exception to it: they are one of the most important areas of the application of the concept of quality. It is in the interest of managers at various levels of the health system to consider the different parameters of quality to provide better health care. Indeed, health services are multidisciplinary and can be positively influenced by better knowlwedge management. Therefore, the notion of quality in knowledge management at the hospital is essential. Knowledge management generally includes the collection, safeguarding, sharing and use of information. It often interferes with communication and technological tools that can generate considerable benefits. These benefits include reducing the cost of care and waiting times, or facilitating decision-making, which is especially paramount for developing countries like Haiti. It is therefore necessary that a good coordination and application of the concept of quality takes place in order to facilitate an effective management of knowlwdgwein the health sector and consequently a better management of time and a reduction of errors at all levels. In this perspective, this thesis aims to analyze the perception of healthcare professionals about the processes of in knowledge management and the different advantages of using hospital information systems as a tool of improvement of the quality of health services in Haiti. To achieve this goal, a Likert questionnaire was administered to 295 people in 3 large hospitals in Port-au-Prince, the capital of Haiti. The SPSS 22 software was used to perform correlations, regressions, t-test, and Anova analyzes on the collected data. The results revealed that the relationship between health information management processes and the benefits of using hospital information systems is weak. On the other hand, the findings confirm that the benefits of the information system usage significantly vary according to health professionals'socio-demographic characteristics. Similarly, important differences are noticed regarding the management processes according to the nurses and doctors' socio-demographic characteristics in Haiti. Based on the results and the literature review, appropriate recommendations are made.
