Review of hak newspaper (14 March-10 August 1912)

The press life, emerged in the modern sense and found the potential for growth from the second half of the 19th century, gained more freedom with the declaration of the II. Constitutional Monarchy in 1908. One of the most important newspapers published in this period is the Hak newspaper. The Hak newspaper is a political, literary and social Turkish newspaper, and also publication organ of Committee of Union and Progress, published daily between March 14, 1912 - August 8, 1912 (Rumi March 1, 1328 - July 26, 1328) in 147 days and reflected exactly the political, literary, sociocultural and economic aspects of the country. Our study, examining the 1-147 numbers of the Hak newspaper, consists of two parts. In the introduction, the press life and the political environment in which the Hak newspaper was published, are informed. In the first chapter called "General Features of the Hak Newspaper", the political and literary aspects of the newspaper and its weekly additions are described; visual materials, advertisements and announcements in the newspaper are informed. The authors of the Hak newspaper and its weekly additions and also the content of the published texts are mentioned, the texts in our study are categorized and a chronological index is given according to the author and the name of the manuscripts. In the second and last chapter of our study, entitled "Selected Texts", social, political, literary texts and poems from the Hak newspaper are transcripted into Latin letters. In the conclusion, the place of the Hak newspaper in Turkish literature is tried to be determined.
