Hâkim Mehmed Efendi's Siyer-i Kebir and its content

In This study comprises the transcription and textual analysis of the first 51 folios of "Siyer-i Kebîr," a work by the 19th-century chronicler Hâkim Seyyid Mehmed Efendi. The research evaluates the historical development of siyer writing and the place of Turkish siyer works within literature; it also examines the life, works, and literary identity of Hâkim Seyyid Mehmed Efendi. By analyzing the method and content of "Siyer-i Kebîr." the religious and literary value of the work is demonstrated. This study aims to highlight the place of Hâkim Seyyid Mehmed Efendi's work in Turkish-Islamic culture and to contribute to the field of siyer studies.
