Özet (EN)

Halide Edip Adıvar appears before us as an enlightened woman, one of the leading names of the women's movement, which emerged as a result of the developments in the Ottoman Empire, the foundations of the Tanzimat Period, the atmosphere of freedom brought by the Constitutional Era and the wars. Adıvar, who has been actively involved in the social processes, has expressed her ideas about the National Struggle and the social position of women in the conferences she attended, the rallies she attended as a speaker and in her works. Halide Edip, who is active in many fields bravely, gives messages to the society and especially to the women of the period on how the ideal female figure should be. In this study, the ideal woman reflections that Halide Edip Adıvar tries to create through her works inspired by her own life will be evaluated in two basic contexts. Halide Edip; It has been tried to examine the female figures who try to exist in the social life and take part in the National Struggle as the subject of Saviye Talip, Handan, Kalp Ağrısı (heart pain), Yeni Turan, Ateşten Gömlek (ordeal) and Vurun Kahpeye (hit the whore) novels. Within the framework of the understanding of femininity reinforced by Halide Edip in her novels and writings, women should receive good education, be sensitive to social issues, participate in the National Struggle, and take an active part in marriage, clothing, social, artistic and cultural activities. In addition to all these, they should not move away from their traditional values while adapting to the requirements of the modern world. Halide Edip tries to guide the women of the period and draw a path for them with her criticisms and affirmations on her works.
