Halîl Sıdkî's Mir'âtu's-Sâlikîn (Analysis-text-simplifying)

Sheikh Halîl Sıdkî is a writer and a poet who lived in XIXth century. Sıdkî about whom there is not much information regarding his life, is originally from Romania and has lived in Istanbul and Çankırı for some period of his life. Although he is believed to have a Diwan, it hasn't been found yet. For the time being, we find copies of his two works called Mir'âtü's-Sâlikîn and Muhtâriyye Şerhü Kasîdeti'l-Mudariyye in the libraries. In this study, his partially translated risalah, which is about the doctrines of Islam and sufi rules, called Mir'âtü's-Sâlikîn, has been reviewed. By doing this, firstly information about his life and literary personality is reviewed, then Mir'âtü's-Sâlikîn is examined in terms of the sources, style and language features of the work. Later the work is analyzed for its form and content, subsequently the risalah is transcripted and transferred to contemporary Turkish language. With this dissertation, it is aimed to give information about Halîl Sıdkî's Mir'âtü's-Sâlikîn that there is no scientific study about him and his risalah until now.
