The relationship between hopelessness and trait anxiety levels and lifelong learning trends of Public Education Center trainees

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to examine the relationship between hopelessness and trait anxiety levels of public education center trainees and their life long learning tendencies. For this purpose, descriptive survey model was used. 301 trainees from public education centers in Bartın participated in the research. Personal information form, ''Beck Hopelessness Scale'', ''Trait Anxiety Scale'', ''Lifelong Learning Tendency Scale'' were applied to public education center trainees. SPSS 23 (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) program was used in the analysis of the data. Quantitative data were analyzed by t-test, analysis of variance (ANOVA), and regression analysis. As a result of the analysis, it is found that hopelessness has an effect of approximately 26% on lifelong learning tendencies, there are a negative significant correlation between trait anxiety scale and lifelong learning tendencies scale, a positive significant correlation between trait anxiety scale and Beck hopelessness scale, and a negative significant correlation between lifelong learning tendencies scale and Beck hopelessness scale (p<0.05).
